Teething Babies?
I have a 2 month old that is already teething. The pour little thing is very fussy because of it. Does anyone out there have any advice on what to do? I've tried teethers, they don't work, she doesn't want anything to do with them, she's too young to understand that cold will feel good! Tempra seems to make her very awake and excited, she can't sleep so I won't give it to her. Help! lol
Teething
My baby is teething, 5 months, and I have tried everything I know to soothe her. Anyone know any other tricks that might help? My first one didn't have this much trouble with teeth, they just came right on in, at 5 months I think she was working on her 4th one.
Tis the season ... Please at least read this (it's kinda long)
With the holidays coming up a lot of people are buying gifts & donating to charity. In high school I always looked forward to helping others out during this time. But this year things have gotten a litte stressful, and I haven't been able to take charity as far as I like.My son is 14 months old, I have a 4 month old who is still in the NICU after having 70% of her small intestine removed & I am pregnant again & have a cyst covering about 12 my left ovary (very painful). But I am trying to get a toy drive started for the children in Medical City Dallas, in the NICU. They need rattles, teethers, books, lights & sounds mobiles, batteries for mobiles, baby swings, artifical Christmas trees w/ lights (helps them focus on far away objects), blankets, socks, and clothes for 0-6months (it gets cold up there), even plastics toy boxes. They can't have teddy bears or other stuffed animals because it can cause an infection & kill them. But some parents can't visit every day, and so some of these babies will be spending the holidays alone.:(I just wanted to share this info. Please let me know if there is a good way to get a toy drive started & be...
Teething aids??
I have a 4 m/o who has ben teething for a couple of mos. now. He's exclusively breastfed (no pacifiers or anything) and doesn't like teethers of any sort. We've got some homeopathis teething gel and that soothes him..Does anyone have ideas on what he could chew on to help those teeth break through? When did your kids get their first teeth?
teethers can be dangerous if put in the freezer
I had no clue that I wasnt supposed to put my daughters teething rings in the freezer. I looked at the back of the box and it said not to because it can cause the plastic lining to become sharp and to cut the gums! Just wanted to warn everyone in case some of you didnt know.
Site that's just like Ebay!
Well I found this new site, that is just like Ebay. But instead of buying things with your money, and bidding against other.. you pay with points, and it's a first come, first serve thing. You bid on it, it's automatically yours. When you first sign up, you're given 15 free points, to get things started. So if you're wondering if it's a legit kind of thing, you can use your free points for something that you may want, or need and see how that goes. That's what I did. I spent my first 15 points on 3 items. One was a 'lot of 3 teethers' for my son, a 'eyebrow pencil' for me, and a 'chicken soup for the teenage soul' book also. Once you've confirm that you want to bid on the items, it'll automatically be posted under your 'items I've won' list in your account. The seller is then notified of your purchased, and then goes ahead and ships out your items. Of course, you don't pay for shipping either, the seller does. Once your item has been received, you go back to your account, click on the item that is listed, and click 'confirm' to let the seller know that you've receieved it, and now they can collect their points. Well, I was notified by the seller about the teethers, that she...
Good toys for a 6 month old?
My son seems so bored with everything. He isn't quite sitting up yet, but close. He does roll over and crawl. He is so bored with all his toys, we have a million! Rattles, teethers, a soft piano, a puppy that sings and talks, and the list goes on and on! But he'll play with something for like 5 mins if that and screams and cries! I cant find anything to keep his attention. Anyone have a good toy recommendation for this age?
I'm a sucker!
Well here is my story. I really need some extra cash to make ends meet. I have an eight month old and stay home with him. I tried a bunch of paid to click sites. While some pay about $5.00 per month, most don't even pay that much. So that wasn't working very well. I decided to start babysitting another baby, another eight month old. I was told she was very good and never cried. I only charged $75 per week since I am home anyway. That was such a big mistake. It is only day three and she is working my nerves. She cries all the time. She is here for eight hours per day and I count down as soon as she arrives. I can only get her to take a half-hour nap. I try to play with both the kids. But laughs, cries, and laughs again all withing seconds. There is nothing wrong with her to make her cry. She is probably teething but the mom doesn't use anything to ease the pain, so I do what I can with teethers. I told the mom about her crying. Her reply is that she has been like that lately. But a few days ago they said she never cried. That is why I charged such a low amount. $75 for 40 hours per week is very cheap, I think. Now I wish I could take it back and charge more! What should I do?...
Toy Recall Visits My House
I was at Target today doing some Christmas shopping and they had a poster hanging up a couple of teething rings that have been recalled. Sure enough, I have one of them. Turns out that something that is made to go in a babies mouth tends to come apart when the baby chews on it, causing choking hazards. So, I have to fill out the form, mutilate to toy to just send back the piece with the model number, and pay shipping out of my own pocket. You would think the company could at least reimburse shipping. Then, it takes 4-8 weeks to get a replacement, as if I even want my baby to put this product in his mouth now. Oh, but if I just mutilated the wrong toy, maybe this wasn't actually the one that was recalled (it looked just like the picture, but it was given as part of a centerpiece at my baby shower, so I did not have packaging for it and there is no model number on the toy itself), then both the money spent on the toy and the shipping were wasted, the toy won't be replaced. I have always been a bit hesitant about this toy because I was afraid that it would come apart, so it has been sitting in a drawer since my baby shower when I saw that it couldn't be returned. Now I am glad that,...
When could I start giving teether?
My child is now 7 months old. She is now into some solid and still uses pacifier sometimes. I saw her biting her pacifier and the nipple of her feeding bottle so I decided to buy her a teether. She doesn't have any teeth coming out yet. I guess she'll be having it later since she was only 35 weeks when she was born so I can;t really say that she is 7- month old based on her development. Did I introduce her early to teethers or my judgment is just right? Who among here had a premature child and how was it? THanks a lot!
