| potty training | | I have a 3 year old son. I am having trouble getting him to use the potty. Any advise? | |
| | We're potty training. | | The store I usually shop was out of size 5 diapers, ugh! So, I've decided my son, who is going to be 2 in a month, will now be potty trained. Well, he's not too happy about it. This is his 2nd time on the potty today, and he's done nothing but cry the whole time.
He actually did pee in the potty this morning on our very first try! I clapped and cheered, but I know it will take a few more catches before he gets the concept.
My older 3 were much older when I began potty training them. They were over 3 by the time they were fully potty trained. We started younger, but didn't stay consistant with it.
I do hope I can stay consistant this time, because I still have the baby in diapers. Being down to 1 in diapers would be great! How old were your kids when you potty trained them? How did you do it? Did you use pull ups, or let them go naked? Tell me your stories.
| | Potty Training | | I have 5 children and my 4 year old refuses to go to the bathroom or wear underwear. Can any other mom's help me with her? I have tried it all, no underwear, going potty every hour, treats, you name it I've probably tried it... help;) | |

| | when to start potty training? | | my daughter is 9 1/2 months old and she seems kind of interested in potty training. i trained early as a child and my husband was about average. my dad bought her a potty but she only wants to pick it up or climb on it. her pediatrician tells me to not even waste my time. i find that to be very discouraging. she says "poo-poo" sometimes when she makes a poopie in her diaper and she likes to sit on our laps when we are on the toilet.
when is a good time to start potty training?
| | potty training | | I had started a discussion about this before but here goes again. My daughter just turned two yesterday. She is not potty trained yet. Maybe that is my fault though. We started a while back maybe at 20 months or something. We got a potty and she loved it she even went in it twice. Now that we live with my gram we start and then stop which I know is our fault. But there will be times when we put panties on her since it's hot out now and then she is good at letting us know when she has to go. I take her to the potty and she pulls her own panties down and sits down for like 2 seconds and then gets back up. She will repeat this a few times and then after I while I forget and then she has an accident. Other times she won't even come to the potty and gets upset about it. I don't know why she won't sit still for more than a second. Has anyone else had this problem?? We even got her a book about the potty. | |

| | What's your best tip for night time potty training a baby or toddler? | | What's your best potty training tips for night time? Do you have any techniques to make night time potty training easier? When I was potty training my child, I had no idea what I was doing. I just let her lead the way and tell me when she was ready. And, it worked out for the best. Sure, I'd read all the parenting books and even talked to friends. But, their experiences did not mirror mine. So I had to wing it. I started trying to potty train my daughter between the age of two or three (actually just before two) and it took her over a year to get it right. She is still fine tuning the details. But, she is very well potty trained. At first she didn't like the toilet, but now she is so proud of her new abilities. My best advice for any mom is to let the child lead the way. Offer lots of praise and rewards (if you want) for a good job. Just keep at it, and familiarize your child with the process the best you can. It may take a while, especially night time potty training. Lots of patience and encouragement. And, be sure to cut out all liquids for the toddler within two hours before bedtime. One other thing that worked for us, was... | |
| | Potty training | | When is the best time to start potty-training? My baby is 1 year and 7months old but I haven't started potty training her yet. | |
| | Potty training | | I have a new one year old miniature Doberman. And she still is not potty trained, we got her about 4 weeks ago. And we have tried pretty much everything to get her to go outside. but she still manages to do it on the floor. We are thinking about getting her a little cage type of thing. Do you think that will help with the problem? Or are there any other ideas? please help. | |
