Looking for some ideas for math centers
Hi, I'm looking for some ideas for some math games to use in center work with my grade 5 class. We are doing a unit on decimals, mixed numbers and fractions. Any ideas would be appreciated.
do u you math games or puzzles or language/word games?
lot of my friends like playing games on the net. Maths games, some like words games, some like solving puzzles and answering quizzes. playing maths games are real fun. i personally like mathematics, i remember i used to score very good marks in algebra and geometry subjects. what do u like? or u dont like any of these. just like starting and responding discussions in mylot?
On-line math help and resources
Hi Moms at myLot,I am willing to help if you or your kids have any math questions (K-12). I am a teacher. I write math books and I have a math site: http://www.onlinemathlearning.comThe site has a collection of math games, worksheets etc. that could be useful.
Anyone Else Substituting Educational Things for Toys This Year?
In light of all the toy recalls and since "No Child Left Behind" is really dumbing down my daughters public/charter school I have decided that we are going to substitute fun educational things for toys this year. My daughter is seven going on eight. I already purchased a few cool computer math games and a few games for her Leapster. Is anyone else doing that this year? Any cool suggestions for things to buy?
Do you know about the UN World Food program?
I see many times here in mylot people who care so much for the welfare of our pets. That is good: I wouldn´t let my Lola be hungry even though she is an extremelly naughty german shepherd puppy. But we have more responsability for the care of our children. And there are children in many parts of the world you are so undernourished they don´t have the energy the take aways flies from their faces. There are childsren dying of hunger. They are slow deaths: I wouldn´t give that torture to my worst enemy. There is a way we can help by playing a little game online. For each correct answer (that will help us have better vocebulary), the UN gets rice from its sponsors. If each of us plays for 10 or 15 minutes (and there are math games that our small children can play too) we can make a difference. I know it´s not permited to put links here or to promote a site. But I´m promoting life, not a place to earn money. Here´s the link. Please check it.http://www.freerice.com/faq.htmWhether you believe in God or in the energy of the universe, you will be blessed if you help. Take care![em]happy[/em]
