| | | Do I have to loose my self-identity to Motherhood? | | I've been a full time mom for 6 months now to a beautiful baby boy. Although he wasn't a planned pregancy, the joy that he has brought to my life is immense. The only regret I have is that I didn't have him sooner. I knew that having a kid would change my life, but I never expected it to be this much. Does life ever go back to normal again? My days are filled with feeding baby, diapering baby, bathing baby, playing with baby, baby play groups, conversations about babies, surfing baby websites, shopping for baby and pretty much everything about babies. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy motherhood. I just feel that in trying to be the best mother that I can be, I have lost myself. I don't talk to my babyless friends anymore, neither do I have any hobbies (baby makes sure I've no time for that). Any free time I get, I will get some rest. Am I the only one feeling this way? Do I manage my time that badly? Is it possible to have a baby and still be yourself? | |

| | How do you entertain a 4 month old? | | My daughter just turned 4 months old and sometimes I think she just gets bored but I don't know what else to do with her. She plays on her playmat for a little while but then gets fussy. She doesn't really like her swing or bouncer anymore. I read books with her and sing and dance with her. She's not really too interested in toys yet so I don't know what else to do with her! | |
| | What toys does your baby play with? | | Does your baby have a favorite toy you bought for them? What is the age range and what kind is it?My baby doesn't like toys, she is almost 7 months old and likes to play with her baby wipes box, cardboard rolls (any kind, toilet paper, paper towels, wrapping paper). She loves to tear up tissue paper for wrapping gifts, she found some under my bed and destroyed it all. She also likes to pull all the towels off of the bottom shelf and strategically place them around the room. She loves all boxes and empty water bottles. When I hold her and she sees all the toiletries lined up in on my bathroom counter, she gets a gleam in her eye, she's just too short to satisfy that urge for now. She also likes electrical wires and loves to be strapped in her car seat even when we don't go anywhere. She loves the telephone and the beep noises it makes. I'm glad she isn't dependent on toys to help her play, I like that she uses her environment more. Plus I am hoping thats a sign that she might be economical and creative in making use of stuff just laying around. | |
| | People do the darnset things,like let their babies play on public floors | | I know there are tons of mothers who do this. That can never be denied. the only thing is to just lie and say they don't do it. Honesty is the best policy don't you think?why do people let the cute little baby play on public floors. They are crawling around and learning to stand up. They crawl over to the office table and raise up. Next they go to mommies for a snack to nibble on. She just puts it right in the cute babies hands. I see so many parents let the sweet little one suck on the public bus head rest. Oh talk about turning my stomach. Your sitting behind mother dear while the child stands on her lap slobbering on the head rest. Gross,Gross,Gross, | |
| | playmat loving puppy!!! | | WEll my pup has been home now for about 3 days since I got him late friday evening.. All who know me know I have 5 kids which I talk about on here. LOL!! Well I was in the basement and found a baby play mat that I had for my kids. You know the one that has the mirror on it the crinkle thingy and the rattle and it's big enough for the baby to lay on while they play. LOL!!Well I washed it and brought it upstairs and gave it to the puppy, who adores the mirror and the crinkly thingy .. Who'd of thunk it. LOL!!! He drag this play mat with him around and then lays on it and punces on the crinkly thing and yips at the other puppy which is him. LOL!!! But I have never thought that a puppy would have so much fun with a toy designed for a baby.
So what do you think is my pup strange or should they start making these for puppies. LOL!!! Have you ever tried this? | |
| | Why Shouldn't My Hispanic Baby Play With a Black Baby Doll? | | The hubby and i went to Toys 'R' Us this weekend and my daughter reached for a black baby doll. At first, our reaction was to say, "nah you want this one" and gave her the white doll (daddy is white i am hispanic).After she fussed a litle bit, i actually realized that it doesn't matter which color i give her, i want her to be happy. I am not a racist person by any means. I felt horrible for even thinking she could not play with the black baby doll, so i bought it!She loves it, but as we were walking through the local Wal-Mart on Monday, we got these funny looks and people actually pointed at us and laughed made comments under their breath! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! What is the big deal? Shouldn't I be able to buy it and not get looks! This goes to show you hatred and intolerance is taught, you are not born with it or else my baby would have never reached for the black baby doll. | |
| | My Little Cheecky Monkey | | Today when i was sitting in front of the pc, i let my baby play outside his playpen and he likes crawling and picking things around him and put it straight to the mouth. I noticed that he was so very quite and when i turned back, oh ghost! he has a piece of charcoal in his mouth, i didn't notice that he went to the fireplace and got the piece of coal. So then i told it to my husband and he said that's alright, what do you think? Does the charcoal will make him sick? Do i need to go to the doctor for his check up or need to give him medicine for something? Geezz im worried!Happy myloting,cheers! | |
