| STAR WARS: Fans await the return | | Lucas offered a glimpse into the latest creation in his sci-fi universe at the theater-owners convention ShoWest on Thursday, showing a sequence from "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," a computer-animated movie due in theaters August 15. It will be followed by a TV series of the same name, to air on the Cartoon Network and TNT this fall.The movie came about as an afterthought while Lucas was developing an animated TV show of the same name. | | All 5 or 6 star wars movies on TV this Friday | | Spike TV in the U.S. Is it international too? Anyway Spike TV is going to show every Star Wars movie in sucession this Friday. | What is your opinion regarding the Son of Star Wars Missile Defense System | | President George W. Bush and outgoing President Valdimir Putin met recently and apparently got along together well even though there is still disagreement about the Son of Star Wars -- Missile Defense system that this Administration would like to expand. Putin is opposed to the placement of 10 missile intercepers in Poland and forward facing radar systems in the Czech Republic. Bush has stated that these are not a threat to Russia as they are too close to Russian ICBM sites to target those missiles but are instead geared toward deflecting possible attacks from North Korea and from Iran who are both said to be developing nuclear weapons. This system is said to also have a space based detection and defense system which is why it has been classed Star Wars.
I am wondering what you think about such a system, if you think it will work, and if you think such a system is worth risking relations with other nations, and if you think that there are other reasons why this system is being developed that are perhaps not being mentioned... What is your opinion on this? | |
