| | | | | Lepakshi AP India | | This is historically and mythilogically Important Place. the history of this place is associated with the great Indian Epic, Ramayana. The name to this place came due to Rama's pronounciation of the word Le-Pakshi. Le means Get Up, Pakshi means Bird.Rama found the wounded Jatayu(Big Bird) in this place. Jatayu tried to rescue Sita from Ravana. There is a Veerabhadra temple(Shiva's incornation) constructed in this place. | | | Should Sesame Street Muppets be 'Catalysts for Progressive Social Change'? | | PBS documentary website sells Sesame Street as a progressive force to indoctrinate children with liberalism. Along the alphabet and the numbering system, kids were being taught ethnic diversity, urban pride, and conflict-resolution skills since Sesame Street debuted in 1969. Today, Sesame Street is aired in more than 120 countries around the world. The documentary, THE WORLD ACCORDING TO SESAME STREET illustrates both the many cultural differences and similarities of producing the children’s television program on a global level.

In a Q&A with filmmakers, they were fascinated "that Muppets could be the catalyst for social change." We hope they would be a bit nepotistic and appoint some of the other Muppets to certain cabinet posts: The Count in the Treasury, Cookie Monster at the Food and Drug Administration, Grover as chief of staff, Khoka (who teaches girl empowerment and education on the Egyptian co-production) as secretary of...
| | What is turkey? | | Ho Ho, I'm sure you're all thinking "Oh no not another one of those stupid 'what is' posts, everyone knows turkey is a big bird that goes gobble gobble and we eat it on Christmas day." Well, I, personally, have changed my mind with regard to the definition of a turkey. After seeing some of the inane posts here on myLot, I've decided that a turkey is a myLot user who:copies and pastes threads as his/her own
copies and pastes posts as his/her own
responds with yes/no answers to questions like "What is tv"
starts a thread using topics like "What is tv" (Surely the answer is limited to one?)
continuously posts about money
uses capital letters all the timeAm I missing anything here? Who else should join the turkey brigade?
